Sending Off The Fadel's

fadel

This past Sunday, 12/21, we experienced much joy and sadness in sending off Craig and Mary Fadel and their family to the Eastern Shore. They will be moving there at the end of this month to help new churches get planted in the coming years.

Here is what Craig shared with our church family:

About two years ago, Mary and I joined the work here with The Well. We came into a small, but great group of people. Things were chaotic and mess which was a challenge for Mary and me. You may know that we are organized and administrative – that’s a positive way of saying that we are anal and control-freaks. So walking into a new church is the opposite of what’s logical for us.

Our time in Silver Spring has been an adventure. Throughout our time we were extremely grateful for God’s faithfulness. God was good and blessed us through this experience.

We also want to say “thank you” to the people of The Well Community Church. Thank you for the love you have shown us and for allowing us to serve alongside all of you. We are grateful for the times spent in 3Ds, in Community, working together in Family Ministry and worshiping during the Sunday morning gatherings. You have inspired us as you’ve shared stories, encouraged us, held us accountable, and challenged us. The season at The Well has drawn us closer to Christ.

We have many great memories here and are blown away by all that God has accomplished over the last two years. Yet, we believe the best is yet to come. The Lord is raising up a great leadership team and a great group of people. Our time here is done, but there is much work left to accomplish.

For us, we are moving forward into another church planting situation – with more chaos and messiness. We are moving to the Eastern Shore to help more churches get started! The first place we will focus is near Easton and we are excited to help reach more people with the gospel and make disciples!

In the midst of the excitement, fear is a very real thing that we have to work through. We struggle with normal fears: the fear of failure, the fear of not having enough, the fear of making the wrong choices, the fear of not being able to handle the chaos and uncertainty. It seems that often God does not take away the fear but helps us work through it.

We look to our Heavenly Father to remember how big and awesome He is. We know He loves us because He sent Jesus to earth to rescue us. We know He is all-powerful because He defeated sin, Satan, and death. We know He brings peace to His children because this was announced at Jesus’ birth. We know that He is with us because He promised that He would be with us always.

So we move forward in the face of fear. The cloud of fear is so small when compared to the love of the Father. We move forward despite fear because of the joy that we find in Christ both now and in the future. We cling to Christ because of what He has accomplished for us and find joy in Him.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

If you would like to get involved, there are some practical ways that you can help:

  • Connect us with any friends or family you have on the Eastern Shore that might be interested in hearing more about a new church.
  • Join our team of financial supporters who can help us serve the Eastern Shore as missionaries. You can give at this link: www.sentnetwork.org/support
  • Sign up for regular updates via email. If you would like to be on that email, you can let me know at craigfadel@gmail.com.
  • PRAY for us: for peace, for God’s sustenance, for our hearts, for our daughters Clara and Melody, for new friends, for more pastors and leaders to get involved, for more churches, and most importantly, pray for many more to come to know Christ.
