Beliefs and Values

We believe what scripture teaches and we value what Jesus values.

BELIEFS

We hold firmly to the Nicene and Apostle’s Creeds. These beliefs have proven worth dying and living for as they have marked the historic orthodox Christian community. Our community is shaped by a Reformed and Missional paradigm, in which you will find us celebrating the richness of theology while actively engaging the world with the gospel. VALUES

Bible
God chose to reveal himself through Scripture, which tells the grand story of rescuing creation to himself, in and through his son Jesus. The Bible is how we know God, what he has done, what he is doing, and what he will do. It is our source of truth, instruction, and promise. (Luke 24:44-49; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Isaiah 40:8; Psalm 119; Philippians 3:10-11)

  • Believe and Obey
  • Know and Love God

Disciple
We reorient our whole lives to follow Jesus while intentionally showing and teaching others to do the same. Our primary call is to make disciples. (2 Timothy 2:1-2; 1 Thessalonians 2:8; Acts 2:42-47; Mark 3:31-35; Matthew 4:19)

  • All of Life
  • Intentional Relationships
  • Happens in Community

Pray
To pray is to embrace the privilege and joy of our relationship with God. As God’s children, we are dependent on Him for all things. (Colossians 4:2; James 5:16; 1 Timothy 2:1; Ephesians 6:19-20; 1 Peter 4:7)

  • Pray and Plan
  • Prayer as Mission
  • Pray Now

Demonstrate
We demonstrate the Gospel by meeting tangible needs within and outside of the community. We participate with God and each other in his kingdom that has and will one day fully come. (Romans 15:5-6; Hebrews 10:24; Acts 2:42-47; Philippians 2:1-4)

  • Celebrate and Serve
  • Bless your Neighbor
  • Kingdom Curiosity

Declare
We explicitly share the Gospel, with words, to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ to each other and the world around us. We are saved and sanctified by the Gospel. (Romans 10:14-17; Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 5:14-21; 2 Timothy 2:10)

  • Explicit Gospel Conversations
  • People Not Projects
  • Receive or Reject

Multiply
God creates with the intention of spreading His glory over the earth, that all kinds of people in all places would enjoy and worship Him. Therefore, we make space in his body and extend his Kingdom by multiplying disciples, communities, and churches. (Matthew 4:19; 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; John 17:16-18)
